Igor Cukrov (born June 6, 1984 in Šibenik , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian singer and musician .

Private life

In 2008, Cukrov was in a relationship with the Montenegrin participant Nina Petković from Operacija Trijumpf . According to his own statements, he admires Andrea Bocelli and George Michael . He has long since interrupted his studies in philosophy and theology in order to devote himself to his music career. Since 2009 he has been with the Serbian model Katarina Kržanović, whom he married in 2018 and with whom he had a son in the same year.

Career

Cukrov performed at the Split Festival , where he received the Best Debut Artist award. He was also able to gain his first experience as a a cappella campi singer as a tenor .

Cukrov became known to a wider audience when he took part in the casting show Operacija Trijumf (German: Operation Triumph), which can be compared with the world-famous Fame Academy . Operacija Trijumf was a project in which all countries of the former Yugoslavia (except Slovenia) participated. The singer was able to place himself in the top ten.

Together with Andrea Šušnjara , Igor Cukrov was able to prevail at the Dora 2009 and thus represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow with the title Lijepa Tena , where both were able to reach 18th place in the final.

In June 2009 Cukrov presented a new single at the Split Festival 2009 with Mjesečar (German: sleepwalker ). He also confirmed in an interview that he would spend the summer in the studio working on his debut album .
