Igor Anatolyevich Paschkewitsch ( Russian Игорь Анатольевич Пашкевич ; Azerbaijani İqor Paskeviç ; English Igor Pashkevich * 1. July 1971 in Moscow , Soviet Union ; † 26. March 2016 in Miami , Florida , United States ) was a Russian figure skater , who in a single run for the Soviet Union, Russia and Azerbaijan started.
Pashkevich was Junior World Champion in Colorado Springs in 1990 before Alexei Urmanow . His greatest success with the seniors was winning the silver medal at the 1996 European Championships . After this success he started for Azerbaijan and achieved his best world championship result with eighth place in 1997 . Pashkevich took part in two Olympic Games . In 1994 he was starting 15th for Russia and starting in 1998 for Azerbaijan he finished 16th.
After finishing his competitive career, Pashkevich became a coach. He trained the American Angela Nikodinov . In the car accident that killed Nikodinov's mother in 2005, he was in the car. Pashkevich was a technical specialist at the ISU .
Pashkevich died at the age of 44. He had trained Daniel Samohin until the end .
