Ilya Proskuryakov ( Russian Илья Вячеславович Проскуряков ; English transcription: Ilya Vyacheslavovich Proskuryakov * 21st February 1987 in Surgut , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender who since August 2020 Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) under contract stands.

Career

Ilya Proskuryakov began his career as a hockey player at HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , for which he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 2004/05 season . He had previously been active in the youth sector for the club. In the 2006/07 season, the goalkeeper with Metallurg became Russian champions for the first time in his career . Proskuryakov, who in his first five years in Magnitogorsk had regularly played for their second team in the Russian third division , was the goalkeeper Metallurgs in the newly formed Continental Hockey League in the 2008/09 season . There he formed a duo with the Belarusian Andrej Mesin after the departure of Travis Scott . In the main round of the season Proskuryakov guarded the goal of his home club 40 times, as well as nine times in the playoffs. In one of the games he achieved the rare feat of scoring a goal himself as a goalkeeper. Against Ak Bars Kazan , the goalkeeper hit the orphaned goal just before the end of the game.

At the beginning of February 2011 Proskuryakov was sent to HK CSKA Moscow as part of a barter , which in return received Georgi Misharin . Proskuryakov only stayed with CSKA until the end of the season and during this time came three missions in the KHL. In July 2011, Proskuryakov was hired by HK Tractor Chelyabinsk for a year and returned to CSKA after the contract expired. At CSKA, Proskuryakov then mostly acted as the second goalkeeper and came in 20 KHL games in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. After the start of the 2014/15 season Proskuryakov - after the commitment of Stanislaw Galimow and Kevin Lalande , he was only the third goalkeeper - together with Nikita Lissow was handed over to Admiral Vladivostok , in return Mikhail Naumenkow moved to ZSKA.

In May 2015 he moved from Admiral Vladivostok to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod as part of an exchange deal . Between May 2017 and the end of the 2017/18 season, Proskuryakov was under contract with HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk , who did not receive a license for the following season and was relegated to the Vysschaya Hockey League . In November 2018 he signed a contract with the Krefeld Pinguinen from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) . For the 2019/20 season he returned to Russia and completed the season at HK Sochi in the KHL. In July 2020 he finally moved to the second division club HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk, where his contract was terminated by mutual agreement after just a few days and he joined Dinamo Riga from the KHL.

International

For Russia Proskuryakov took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in 2005 , in which he finished fifth with his team.
