Career
Ilkka Sinisalo began his career as a hockey player in the junior division of PiTa Helsinki, for whose professional team he made his debut in the then second-rate I divisioona in the 1976/77 season . He then moved to his city rivals HIFK Helsinki , with whom he was Finnish champion for the first and only time in his career in the 1979/80 season . On February 14, 1981, the attacker signed as a free agent a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers , where he had a regular place in the National Hockey League for the next nine years . In the 1991/92 season Sinisalo came to only three missions in the NHL for Los Angeles, while he spent the entire remaining time with their farm team from the International Hockey League , the Phoenix Roadrunners . The left shooter then returned to his Finnish homeland, where he and HPK Hämeenlinna only failed in the 1993 playoff final at TPS Turku . For the 1993/94 season, the former national player from Ilves Tampere was committed, but played mainly for Kärpät Oulu in the second-rate I divisioona . After he began in the following season at Ilves, the winger moved to the Espoo Blues during the 1994/95 season , where he ended his career at the age of 37 following the 1995/96 season.
