Ingo Antonio Zamperoni (born May 3, 1974 in Wiesbaden ) is an Italian - German television presenter and journalist . From 2012 to 2014 he was the moderator of the Tagesthemen and worked until 2016 as a correspondent for the ARD foreign studio in Washington . On October 24, 2016, he succeeded Thomas Roth once again as Tagesthemen moderator.

Life

After graduating from high school, the son of a German and an Italian was doing community service at Radio Klinikfunk in Wiesbaden. His father was a manager at Hoechst , his parents met in 1967 on Lake Maggiore . He has a four years younger brother who is a gynecologist in Wiesbaden. From 1994 to 1999 he studied American studies , law and history at the University of Konstanz , in Berlin and Boston . He completed his traineeship at Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) .

Then he switched to NDR television , for which he contributed as an author and reporter for the Tagesschau and Tagesthemen from 2002 . He took on his first moderation tasks in the regional broadcast Lower Saxony 7.30 pm , NDR aktuell and as a holiday replacement for the international magazine Weltbilder .

On March 5, 2007, he took over the moderation of the show Nachtmagazin im Erste as the successor to Anja Bröker , which he moderated with Gabi Bauer on a weekly basis until 2013 .

In 2012 he switched to the Tagesthemen team , replacing Susanne Holst as a substitute for Caren Miosga and Tom Buhrow . After Buhrow left, Zamperoni became a regular presenter. In addition to the task of representing the first two moderators Caren Miosga and Thomas Roth , he presented the topics of the day according to plan for twelve weeks a year.

Zamperoni is sometimes in the SWR telecast I wear a big name to view rate team.

On August 26, 2013, he and Katrin Bauerfeind presented the political show Convince us! The politician check in the first.

In the (pre-) week to commemorate the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig 200 years ago (October 14-19, 2013) he was the main moderator in an experimentally staged news program Völkerschlacht überrollt Sachsen on MDR television.

In October 2013, the ARD news program Tagesschau online announced that Zamperoni will move to the ARD foreign studio in Washington on February 1, 2014. The medium magazine declared him one of the Journalist of the Year, 2013.

On October 24, 2016, Zamperoni took over the moderation of the day's topics again . He moderates this program alternately with Caren Miosga (representing both: Pinar Atalay ).

Others

Zamperoni has been an ambassador for the children's aid organization Save the Children since 2007 . He is particularly committed to the organization's education campaign, which aims to improve the lives of children in war zones. He is also an ambassador for the Bärenherz Foundation for seriously ill children.

Zamperoni is said to be a member of the German-American association Atlantik-Brücke , in fact he is said to have participated in the Young Leaders program there without being a member himself.

Private

Zamperoni is married to an American and has three children. He has German and Italian citizenship.
