history

Ittling was first mentioned in 1011 as Uttilingun in a deed of gift from King Heinrich II to the diocese of Bamberg, which he founded . This makes Ittling the oldest officially mentioned district of Simmelsdorf.

Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Ittling became part of the independent rural community of Wildenfels with the second municipal edict . In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Ittling was incorporated into the municipality of Simmelsdorf together with Wildenfels in 1978. In November 2005 the place had almost 200 inhabitants, most of whom were Protestant and belonged to the parish of St. Helena in Großengsee . In 2016 Ittling had 186 inhabitants.

traffic
