Jörg Köpke

Jörg Peter Leberecht Köpke (born April 22, 1941 in Eberswalde ) is a German officer ( retired major general ). He was u. a. from 1991 to 1994 commander of the Air Force officers' school and from 1998 to 2002 head of the Air Force Office .

Life

Promotions

Köpke joined the Bundeswehr Air Force in 1961 . At first he did basic military service with the Air Force Training Regiment 1 in Pinneberg. Then he completed the officer course at the 4th / Officer Training Battalion in Fürstenfeldbruck and the officer course at the 3rd / Officer School of the Air Force in Neubiberg. In 1963 he became S3 in the Air Force Training Regiment 5 in Wentorf. From 1964 to 1967 he was platoon leader in the 3./Fla-Raketenbataillon 35 in Oldenburg. He was then a teaching officer at the Air Force Missile School at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. From 1970 to 1972 he was the battery chief of 4./Fla-Raketenbataillon 36 in Schiffdorf.

From 1972 to 1974 he attended the 17th general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg. From 1974 to 1977 he was an operational general staff officer of the 4th Air Force Division in Aurich. Then he went to the FüAkBw as a lecturer A3. From 1980 to 1982 he was commander of the Fla-Missile Battalion 32 in Freising. From 1982 to 1984 he was a consultant in the air force headquarters in Bonn. In 1984/85 he was group leader in the air fleet command in Cologne. In 1985/86 he became head of department in the planning staff of the Federal Minister of Defense in Bonn.

In 1986/87 he graduated from the 69th NATO Defense College in Rome. From 1987 to 1989 he was an operational general staff officer in the Allied Air Forces Central Europe in Ramstein. In 1989/90 he attended the Royal College of Defense Studies in London. From 1991 to 1994 he was the commander of the Air Force officers' school in Fürstenfeldbruck. Then he was deputy commanding general of the Air Force Command North in Kalkar and Deputy Commander of the Air Force Command Command in Cologne. In 1998 he became head of the Air Force Office in Cologne. He is now out of service.

He is Vice President of the Federal Board of the Society for Security Policy .

Köpke is married and has two children.
