Hubert Marquitan
Hubert Marquitan (born November 3, 1937 in BANY near Allenstein , East Prussia ) is a retired German Lieutenant General . D. He was u. a. Commander of the Air Force Officer's School and Air Transport Command .

Marquitan joined the Bundeswehr in 1956 . He started with the Air Force Training Regiment 2 in Stade and graduated from the Air Force Officer School in Neubiberg in 1958/59 . Then he came to the pilot selection school of the Air Force candidate regiment in Uetersen. In 1959 he began his aviation training . He was then a flight instructor. In 1963 he attended the S pilot school in Diepholz and Wunstorf. From 1963 to 1968 he was a transport pilot, operations officer and squadron captain with Lufttransportgeschwader 62 in Ahlhorn.
From 1968 to 1970 he completed the 13th general staff course (L) at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg. From 1970 to 1972 he was a department head in the air transport command in Münster. In 1972 he moved to Bonn as a consultant in the air force command staff . From 1974 to 1976 he was commander of the flying group in Lufttransportgeschwader 63 in Hohn. In 1976 he became adjutant to the Deputy Inspector of the Air Force in Bonn. In 1978 he became deputy commander and in 1980 commodore of LTG 63. From 1980 to 1983 he moved to the international military staff at NATO headquarters in Belgium.
In 1983/84 he was commander of the Luftwaffe officers' school in Fürstenfeldbruck and from 1984 to 1991 of the air transport command in Münster. In 1991 he became Deputy Commander and Commander of the Corps and Territorial Command East in Potsdam. From 1994 to 1996 he was Commanding General of the Air Force Command South and Commander Combined Air Operations Center in Meßstetten. In 1996 he retired.
Marquitan is married and has two children.
