Jewish cemetery (Burgpreppach)
The Jewish cemetery Burgpreppach in Lower Franconia Burgpreppach , a market in the district of Haßberge , located just south of Burgpreppach.
The cemetery covers 27 ares and contains 397 tombstones ( mazewot ). The oldest surviving tombstone dates from 1710 to 1714. The oldest tombstones are the furthest away from the entrance gate.
history
First of all, the deceased Jews from Burgpreppach were buried in the Jewish cemetery in Ebern . In 1708, the manor of Fuchs allowed the Jews of Burgpreppach to set up their own cemetery. Funerals took place in the cemetery until September 25, 1939; Jakob Hirschmann was buried on this day.
