Jürgen Watzke

Jürgen-Michael Watzke (* around 1952 in Mittweida ; † August 16, 1997 in Jagsthausen ) was a German actor , theater director and radio play speaker .

Life

Jürgen Watzke first studied technology at the Technical University of Chemnitz and worked in the technology of the Chemnitz theater . He learned his artistic craft at what is now the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . He had engagements at the Kleist Theater in Frankfurt (Oder) , where he made his stage debut, and at the Nordhausen Theater , where he also directed both theaters . In addition to other roles, Watzke played the village judge Adam in Heinrich von Kleist's comedy Der zerbrochne Krug in Frankfurt (Oder) in 1983 . He also worked at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam , for example in 1983 as armorer in Hamlet by William Shakespeare , and at the Berliner Ensemble . From 1993 Watzke worked as a freelancer and performed at the Schauspielhaus Zurich , among others .

In addition, Watzke was seen extensively in front of the camera from 1980, partly in crime series such as Ein Mord für Quandt , Die Wache , Faust or as a thieving landlord in the family series Sherlock Holmes and the Seven Dwarfs , and partly in literary adaptations such as Kai out of the box or The actress . In addition, Watzke also worked as a speaker in radio play productions.

In the summer of 1997 Jürgen Watzke played the title role of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's play Götz von Berlichingen on the stage of the Jagsthausen Castle Festival . The day before the Dernière , he died unexpectedly at the age of only 45.
