Janieve Russell (born November 14, 1993 in Manchester Parish ) is a Jamaican hurdler who has specialized in the 400-meter distance and because of her sprinting strength also in the 4-by-400-meter relay and in the 400-meter Barrel is used. Janieve Russell gained her first international experience at the CARIFTA Games 2008 in Basseterre , where she won the silver medal in the long jump with 5.72 m and was victorious in the Jamaican 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 39.62 minutes . In 2010 she won the pentathlon at the CARIFTA Games in George Town with 3825 points . At the Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships (CAC) in Santo Domingo she won in 3: 34.41 min with the 4 x 400 meter relay and won the silver medal in the 400 meter run in 53.68 seconds . She then won the 400 m hurdles at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona in 56.62 seconds and won the silver medal with the relay behind the team from the United States in 3: 32.97 minutes.

Two years later, she took part in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow for the first time , where she won the bronze medal over 400 m hurdles in 55.64 seconds behind her compatriot Kaliese Spencer and Eilidh Child from Scotland. In 2015 and 2018, Russell became the Jamaican champion in the 400-meter hurdles.
