Jean Thomé (born January 19, 1933 in Düsseldorf ; † July 10, 1980 ) was a German singer , composer and actor .

life and career

Jean Thomé's father was a lawyer who made it up to the Karlsruhe federal judge . His mother was a teacher and concert violinist . He received training at the conservatory in the subjects of piano and double bass and would have been accepted into a symphony orchestra without transition if he had not discovered his love for the light muse . Because of this, he preferred to play piano in clubs and bands, where he sometimes had to sing, which was great fun for him. First he was discovered by Kurt Hohenberger for his big band . Thomé was able to prove his acquired singing skills on a major tour of Germany . He then joined the Max Gregers orchestra , where it caused such a sensation that Greger recognized the potential for a solo career and in July 1957 placed him with a record company . The trademark of the heavyweight singer with the distinctive double chin was the smoky, hoarse voice.

Thomé embodied roles as an actor and singer in music films in the 1950s. He sang the theme song in the film La Paloma in 1959. From the 1960s on, he mainly appeared in television entertainment programs. In 1972 he was involved in the composition of the song I wish 'mir' ne kleine Kiezekatze for the cartoon character Wum and in 1974 he composed the theme song for the entertainment show Der Große Preis . He also got the arrangements for various music television shows.

Thomé died in a car accident on July 10, 1980 and is rests in the cemetery in Germering .
