Jenaprießnitz is a district of the independent city of Jena in Thuringia .
location
Jenaprießnitz (once also Briesenitz ) is located east of the city of Jena in a wide valley between the heights of the Kernberge , Wöllmisse and the heights of the Jenzig . The federal highway 7 from Jena to Eisenberg leads through the valley. The slopes and hills next door are green or wooded. The Gembdenbach flows through the valley and flows into the Saale .
history
The village was first mentioned on January 1, 1283. At that time, the Jenaprießnitz village church already existed . In 1836 the place had 222 inhabitants in 48 houses. As a document from 1306 shows, the burgraves of Kirchberg had a noble seat here. These were originally based on nearby Jena local mountain . A woman from Weißbach sold the estate to the "Lieutenant von Plausigk" in 1703, and it was later bought by 30 neighbors.
Originally an agricultural farming village, the place developed after the fall of the 1990s as a residential area for citizens from the nearby city. New residential areas and commercial settlements were created. On July 1, 1994, the place was incorporated into the city of Jena. Together with Wogau, it forms a district in which 1154 people live (as of December 31, 2017).
