Church in Lützeroda (2013)

St. Nicholas Church

The Lützeroda village church is originally a Romanesque hall church with a slightly retracted choir . Romanesque masonry on the south side and three stones with simple relief representations on the east side are recognizable. The tower rises above the choir, on a square wooden tower top, closed off by a smaller tail dome with a lantern .

The choir square under the tower is closed inside by a barrel vault. The sacrament shrine in the north wall dates from the Gothic period. The choir opens to the nave with a Romanesque triumphal arch. On its south side there is a pulpit from 1689. There is also a baptismal font with the year 1590, galleries and an organ from the early 19th century in the church. The church was rebuilt or repaired several times, most recently in 1985/86.
