Joachim Bißmeier (born November 22, 1936 in Bonn ) is a German actor .

biography

Bißmeier completed his acting training at the Folkwang School in Essen and made his debut in 1960 as Rodrigo in Shakespeare's Othello (director: Werner Krauth) at the Wuppertal theaters . This was followed by engagements at the Contra-Kreis-Theater in Bonn, at the Zimmertheater Tübingen and in 1964 at the Theater der Courage in Vienna. In 1965 he was engaged at the Burgtheater in Vienna , which remained his parent company until 1992. This was followed by significant work at the Berlin Schaubühne , at the Salzburg Festival , at the Munich Residence Theater , in Frankfurt, at the Stuttgart State Theater , at the Schauspielhaus Zurich and in Düsseldorf, where he worked with theater directors such as Peter Palitzsch , Leopold Lindtberg , Achim Benning and Claus Peymann worked together. On September 5, 2002, he played Moritz Meister alongside Traute Hoess in Thomas Bernhard's Über allen Gipfel ist Ruh in Vienna at the Theater in der Josefstadt , directed by Wolf-Dietrich Sprenger .

Bißmeier is married to the theater director Barbara Bißmeier . The couple lives in Vienna and Eastern Styria .
