Johann Karl Friedrich Ludwig von Stockhausen (born April 19, 1775 in Homburg before the height , † July 4, 1843 in Neudeck ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and court marshal of Prince Albrecht of Prussia .

Life

His parents were Major General Johann Friedrich Gustav von Stockhausen (1734-1803) from the Westphalian noble family Stockhausen and his wife Luise Henriette Friederike, née von Ziegler (1759-1814).

Military career

Stockhausen came on May 25, 1790 as an ensign in the infantry regiment "von Schönfeld" of the Prussian Army and on October 20, 1792 was promoted to second lieutenant . During the First Coalition War he fought in the sieges of Mainz , Longwy , Landau and Verdun as well as the battle of Kaiserslautern . For the battle near Frankenthal Stockhausen received the order Pour le Mérite on June 22, 1794 .

After the war he was promoted to prime lieutenant on October 8, 1797 and rose to staff captain on March 30, 1803 . In the Fourth Coalition War , Stockhausen was made inactive near Lübeck in 1806 after the surrender of the " Blücher " corps . After the war he received his departure as major on September 21, 1807 . Stockhausen turned down offers to join the Westphalian Army . He moved to Heidelberg, where he fell seriously ill.

As a result of the illness, Stockhausen was only able to find another use in the army on November 17, 1813. During the Wars of Liberation he was first aggregated to the 10th Reserve Infantry Regiment (No. 22) and fought in the blockade of Erfurt and the battles near Laon and Paris , and also in the battles at La Chaussee, Chalons and Chateau-Thierry . At that time he was assigned to the 10th Reserve Infantry Regiment (No. 22) on August 21, 1814 and appointed battalion commander on November 1, 1814. Stockhausen also received the Iron Cross II. Class for Chalons and the First Class Cross for Chateau-Thierry on January 1, 1815.

After the war he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on March 30, 1817 and to colonel on March 30, 1824, and on September 15, 1824 with the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class excellent. From October 27, 1827 to October 3, 1829 Stockhausen served as the military governor of Prince Albrecht of Prussia. On August 7, 1830, he received his departure as major general and was appointed court marshal of Prince Albrecht at the same time. On September 25, 1830 he was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Dutch Lion . On October 15, 1840 Stockhausen was given the character of Lieutenant General. He died on July 4, 1843 in Neudeck.

Stockhausen married Henriette Karoline Marie Meyer on April 17, 1797 in Stettin (* August 25, 1777; † November 13, 1850). The later Prussian chamberlain Friedrich Ludwig Albert (* January 5, 1810 - † November 9, 1858) emerged from the marriage, who married Ernestine Caroline Wilhelmine Treusch von Buttlar -Brandenfels (* August 26, 1811 - February 24, 1888).
