Art historical work

In Salzburg, Piger was particularly supported by the St. Peter and Nonnberg Foundations, for which he repeatedly worked. Stylistically, he was close to the movement of the Nazarenes , who sought a synthesis of medieval-old German style elements with the depth of feeling of a Raphael and thus tried to formulate a new way of expressing religious content.
