Jonas Holøs (born August 27, 1987 in Sarpsborg ) is a Norwegian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Linköpings HC from Svenska Hockeyligan since June 2019 .

Jonas Holøs began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth team of Sparta Sarpsborg , for whose professional team he made his GET-ligaen debut in the 2003/04 season . In the following four years, the defender was always a regular in the Norwegian top division. He was then selected in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft in the sixth round as a total of 170 players from the Colorado Avalanche . Initially, however, the right-handed shooter stayed in Europe and received a contract with Färjestad BK in the Swedish Elitserien in summer 2008 , with which he was instant champion in the 2008/09 season .

On May 26, 2010, he signed an entry-level contract with Colorado Avalanche. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season , Holøs was on the team's NHL roster and made his debut in the National Hockey League on October 16, 2010 , when he was on the ice in the game against the New York Islanders . After he had been sent to the farm team for the Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League , the Norwegian returned to Colorado for a few games before he was reassigned to the farm team.

Between October 2011 and March 2013 he played for Växjö Lakers Hockey in the Elitserien , before he was signed by Lokomotive Yaroslavl from the Continental Hockey League .

After two seasons in the KHL, Holøs returned to Sweden and signed a two-year contract with his former club, Färjestad BK. After his contract with Färjestad expired, Holøs decided to move to Switzerland, where he was signed by Friborg-Gottéron from the National League . For the 2019/20 season he was signed by Linköpings HC , the defender signed for two years.

International

For Norway , Holøs took part in the junior division in the U18 Junior B World Championship 2005 , the U18 Junior World Championship 2004 , the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2005 and 2007 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 2006 .

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the A-World Championships in 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 as well as at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and at the qualifying tournament for them.
