Justified is the debut studio album by American singer Justin Timberlake . It was released in November 2002 by Jive Records / Zomba Music Group .
history
During * NSYNC's hiatus , Timberlake made his solo debut, which should lead him away from his boy band image. Timbaland , Clipse , Bubba Sparxxx and Janet Jackson participated in the recordings . In Never Again is Brian McKnight heard. Timberlake was influenced by Michael Jackson , especially from his album Off the Wall . The album peaked at # 1 in the UK and # 2 in the US
criticism
On the Allmusic.com website , the reviewer gave it 3 out of 5 stars. He called Timberlake a talented singer, the pieces were "nice on the surface", the sound worked well. Robert Christgau wrote that Timberlake was a big step ahead of its audience. He gave the grade A-.
Awards
At the 2004 Grammy Awards , Timberlake was nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year . It won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album . Cry Me a River received a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance .
