Justin Falk (born October 11, 1988 in Snowflake , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Ottawa Senators from the National Hockey League until July 2019 and at the same time for their farm team, the Belleville Senators , in the American Hockey League played on the position of defender .

Career

Justin Falk began his career as a hockey player with the Swan Valley Stampeders, for which he was initially active in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in the 2004/05 season . Towards the end of the season he moved to the Calgary Hitmen from the Canadian top junior league Western Hockey League . There he began the following season before the defender moved to the Spokane Chiefs after only five games within the WHL . With Spokane he won the Ed Chynoweth Cup , the WHL championship title, and then the Memorial Cup in the 2007/08 season . Following the Memorial Cup, he was elected to the tournament's All-Star Team.

Justin Falk (2010)

In the 2007 NHL Entry Draft , Falk was selected by the Minnesota Wild . For their farm team Houston Eros , he played mainly in the American Hockey League (AHL) from 2008 to 2011 . For the Minnesota Wild himself, he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2009/10 season . In the 2011/12 season , the Canadian was the first regular player in the NHL team of the Minnesota Wild.

In June 2013, he was transferred to the New York Rangers in exchange for Benn Ferriero and a six- round suffrage in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft . After just one season, however, he returned to the Wild in Minnesota, but only stayed until March 2015, when he was transferred to the Columbus Blue Jackets with a five-round vote in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft . In return, the Wild received Jordan Leopold . With the Lake Erie Monsters , the Monsters farm team, Falk won the Calder Cup at the end of the 2015/16 season . Nevertheless, he did not get a contract in Columbus beyond the season, so he joined the Buffalo Sabers as a free agent in July 2016 . He was active there until the end of the 2017/18 season when his expiring contract was not extended. He then spent almost a month on probation with the Colorado Eagles from the AHL before the Ottawa Senators gave him a one-year contract in late November 2018. This was not extended in the summer of 2019, so he has been looking for a new employer ever since.
