Justin Harry Lester (born September 30, 1983 ) is an American wrestler . He won a bronze medal in Greco-Roman style in lightweight at the 2006 and 2007 World Championships .

Career

Justin Harry Lester began wrestling as a teenager in 1992. The Marquette , Michigan and Akron , Ohio- based athlete, who started for the Gator Wrestling Club , practiced free style during his high school years. In this style he was also Junior World Champion (Cadets = age group up to 16 years of age) in the weight class up to 54 kg in Łódź in 1999 . The 1.70 meter tall wrestler then successfully switched to the Greco-Roman style with the help of coaches Iwan Iwanow and Steve Fraser .

In this style he finished 5th in the lightweight world championship in Istanbul in 2003 and also defeated Christian Fetzer from Germany . In 2005, Justin Harry Lester became the US lightweight champion for the first time and also won the US World Championship elimination from Marvin Ford. At the 2005 World Championship in Budapest , he lost his first lightweight fight against Eduard Kratz from Germany he was eliminated and only finished 24th.

In 2006 he was able to qualify again for participation in the World Championships in Guangzhou / China . There he won the lightweight over the vice-world champion from 2005 Kim Min-chul from South Korea , then lost to Kanatbek Begaliew from Kyrgyzstan , but won another one with victories over Gurbinder Singh, India , Nikolai Gergow , Bulgaria and Şeref Eroğlu , Turkey World Cup bronze medal .

In 2007 Justin Harry Lester won the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he was a lightweight in front of Angelo Mota Brea, Dom. Rep., Carlos Ramos, Venezuela and Alain Milián , Cuba , won. At the 2007 World Cup in Baku , he managed to win another bronze medal with a total of five wins in one defeat . Among the wrestlers defeated by him were with Şeref Eroğlu, Ionel Puşcaşu , Romania and Tamás Lőrincz , Hungary , three wrestlers of the absolute world class.

In 2008 Justin Harry Lester finished in the US Olympic elimination behind Jacob Deitchler and Faruk Sahin only 3rd place and could not qualify for participation in the Olympic Games in Beijing .

In 2009 he won the USA welterweight title from Jake Fischer and Cheney Haight and also won the World Championship elimination from Jess Hargrave and Jake Fisher. At the World Championships in Herning / Denmark he lost in the welterweight division against Mark Overgaard Madsen from Denmark and Rafik Gusseinow from Azerbaijan and therefore only ended up in 20th place.

In 2010 Justin Harry Lester has not yet played any major championships or tournaments. But he plans to start again in championships with the support of the US Army.
