K. Berry Peterson

K. Berry Peterson (born July 24, 1891 in Alamo , Indiana , † 1952 in Tucson , Arizona ) was an American soldier, lawyer and politician ( Democratic Party ).

Career

K. Berry Peterson, son of Hannah N. Duckworth (* 1868) and Dr. Charles Arthur Peterson (1867–1928), was born in Montgomery County in 1891 . Nothing is known about his youth. In the following years he studied law and then practiced as a lawyer. During the First World War he served in the US Army . Peterson retired before 1922 to Arizona and settled there in Tucson ( Pima County ) down. From 1922 to 1927 he practiced as a Pima County Attorney. He then served as the Attorney General of Arizona from 1929 to 1933 . In 1932 he ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination for the US Senate Class III seat . against the Democratic incumbent Carl Hayden and unsuccessful for the Democratic nomination for the governor of Arizona against the Democratic challenger Benjamin Baker Moeur . Hayden and Moeur both won the following elections.

He was a Presbyterian and a member of the American Legion , the Disabled American Veterans , the Sigma Alpha Epsilon , the Phi Alpha Delta , the Odd Fellows, and the Elks .
