Wade Church

Wade E. Church (born May 4, 1908 in Helena , Montana , † December 4, 2002 ) was an American lawyer and politician ( Democratic Party ).

Career

Wade E. Church was born in Lewis and Clark County in 1908 . Nothing is known about his youth. Church graduated from Los Angeles City College (LACC) in 1931 . He then did his Bachelor of Arts in 1933 at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He also gave the farewell speech there. Then he studied law at Harvard Law School , where he graduated in 1938. He then worked from 1938 to 1940 as the personal director of the Atkinson-Kier Construction Company - a company that was responsible for the construction of the Hoover Dam . Church then served as Assistant City Attorney of the City of Phoenix ( Maricopa County ) from 1941 to 1942 . Between 1943 and 1947 he worked for the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). In the course of time he held the following positions: Secretary, Treasurer and President. From 1958 to 1961 he served as the Attorney General of Arizona .

Church was a member and teacher of the Merry Mates Sunday School in Phoenix, Arizona for over 50 years.

He was survived by his second wife, Bess, and sons, Phillip, Allen, and Tom. His first wife Margaret died in 1995.
