Evo Anton DeConcini

Evo Anton DeConcini (born March 25, 1901 in Iron Mountain , Michigan , † 1986 ) was an American lawyer and politician ( Democratic Party ).

Career

Evo Anton DeConcini was born in Dickinson County, Michigan in 1901 . His family soon moved to Wisconsin . Nothing is known about his youth. He began studying at the University of Wisconsin in 1920 . His father's death in a car accident in February 1921 resulted in his relocation to Arizona .

Around 1928 he founded the satellite town of Government Heights south of VA Hospital (now known as the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System ) in Tucson, Arizona. He named the streets there President Street, Lincoln Street, Washington Street, District Street and Columbia Street. In honor of President Abraham Lincoln and the Capitol in Washington, DC which was Washington Street later Palmdale Street renamed.

After he went about a decade, various family businesses, he made his 1932 Juris Doctor at the University of Arizona and married Ora Wbster from Thatcher ( Graham County ).

DeConcini was Attorney General of Arizona from 1948 to 1949 . He then held a judge's post at the Arizona Supreme Court until January 13, 1953 . He was succeeded by Dudley W. Windes . During this time as a judge on the Arizona Supreme Court, noted attorney Daniel Cracchiolo was his legal clerk in 1952.

He was the father of US Senator from Arizona Dennis DeConcini and Dino DeConcini of the Drug Administration .
