The canton Allendorf was an administrative unit in the Heiligenstadt district of the Harz department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The main town of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was Allendorf in today's Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse . The canton consisted of 17 places to the right (east) of the Werra , which had previously belonged to the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel or Obereichsfeld . Mayor of the canton was Lorenz Heinrich Stephan.
