The canton Gerbershausen was an administrative unit in the Heiligenstadt district of the Harz department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The main place of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was the place Gerbershausen in today's Thuringian district of Eichsfeld . The canton consisted of 20 places in the Obereichsfeld , which until October 1812 were under the uniform administration of the Obersteiner Katonmaires von Hanstein. After his dismissal in 1812, the canton was dissolved as an independent administrative unit and co-administered from Uder . The mayor of Linsingen received a corresponding allowance on top of his salary.
