The canton Le Puy-en-Velay-Est was until 2015 a French canton in the arrondissement Le Puy-en-Velay in the Haute-Loire department in the Auvergne region in France ; its main town was Le Puy-en-Velay . His representative in the Conseil Régional for the years 2004-2010 was Jean-Claude Ferret.

The canton was in the center of the Haute-Loire department. In the west it bordered on the canton of Le Puy-en-Velay-Ouest , in the north on the canton Le Puy-en-Velay-Nord , in the east and southeast on the canton Saint-Julien-Chapteuil and in the south on the canton Le Puy -en-Velay-Sud-Est . It was between 598 m in Brives-Charensac and 920 m in Saint-Germain-Laprade above sea level .
