history

The Kapitän Bleeker was built as part of the Kommodore Rolin class in 1962/63 under the construction number 518 at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg . The keel was laid on November 15, 1962, the launch on May 18, 1963. The ship was completed in October 1963. It is one of six ships of the same type that were or are still being used in the mouths of the Elbe , Weser / Jade and Ems waters . The ship's owner was the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) until it was decommissioned on September 21, 2012 , and it was operated by Lotsbetriebsverein e. V. Emden branch .

The ship was named after the German captain Heinrich Johannes Bleeker . His eldest daughter, Helene Mahler, christened the ship on April 18, 1963 under the name of Captain Bleeker .

After the pilot transfer service on the Ems had been converted to new buildings that were deployed from the Borkum station, the ship was auctioned in 2013 via the federally owned collecting society VEBEG . On January 24th, the bid was won by the shipping company Atlantic Marine Services, based in Wulsbüttel near Cuxhaven , which bought the ship for € 186,000.60 and renamed it Helene Bleeker . The Bremer Denkmalschiff Förderkreis , which wants to bring a museum ship to Bremen , was also interested in the ship.

In 2014 the ship was sold to Lanzale Services and renamed 12 . It was to be used on expedition trips for the Icelandic company iXplorer from Akureyri. Since January 11, 2018, the ship, now renamed Bleeker , has been for sale again.

Technical specifications

The ship is powered by diesel-electric technology . The two electric drive motors of type G 127/47 MOD. each with 456  kW power come from AEG AG Department of Naval Architecture. The motors act on two fixed propellers .

For electricity generation are three MTU - Diesel engine each with 440 kW power.

The hull of the ship is reinforced with ice ( ice class E1).
