Karl Heinz Beckurts Foundation

The Karl Heinz Beckurts Foundation was founded in 1987 in memory of the physicist and Siemens board member Karl Heinz Beckurts who was murdered by RAF terrorists . The sponsors are the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers and Siemens AG . The foundation's capital is 1.5 million euros.

Karl Heinz Beckurts Prize

In the spirit of Beckurt, who advocated collaboration between science and industry, the foundation annually awards the Karl Heinz Beckurts Prize, each endowed with a maximum of 30,000 euros, to up to three scientists who have provided impetus for industrial innovations.

The Karl Heinz Beckurts Foundation also awards the Teacher Prize of the Helmholtz Associationto educators who have made an outstanding contribution to encouraging their students to do their own scientific work ”.
