Karl Miltner

Karl Miltner (born July 16, 1929 in Engen ; † March 10, 2020 in Dossenheim ) was a German politician ( CDU ). He was a member of the German Bundestag and regional president of the district of Karlsruhe .

Life

Miltner grew up in Dossenheim near Heidelberg as the son of the mayor of Engen . After completing his schooling at the Bunsen Gymnasium in Heidelberg , he passed his Abitur in 1950 . It was followed by a study of law at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg , which he 1954 with the First State examination completed. It was there that he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD . He was a member of the KDStV Arminia Heidelberg in the CV . In 1958 he passed the second state examination in law . This was followed by postgraduate studies at the University of Administrative Sciences Speyer .

Miltner was married and had a daughter.

Act

In 1959 Miltner entered the higher judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg as an assessor , after which he was a government assessor in the Federal Ministry of the Interior . From 1961 to 1964 he worked as a government assessor, later as a Councilor at the District Office Konstanz operates. In 1964 he became the first state official and permanent representative of the district administrator at the Tauberbischofsheim district office . Most recently he held the official title of senior government councilor.

From 1969 to 1988 Miltner was a member of the German Bundestag due to direct mandates in the constituency of Tauberbischofsheim . There he was Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Election Review, Immunity and Rules of Procedure (1976–1980) and a member of the Interior Committee of the 8th Bundestag . After leaving the Bundestag prematurely , Miltner was government president of the Karlsruhe administrative district from 1988 to 1994 . During his tenure he has u. a. the foundation stone was laid for civil use of the Söllingen military airport , today's Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden airport. Honor Funk moved up for him in the Bundestag .

In his retirement he was President of the Baden-Württemberg Management Academy in Karlsruhe from 1995 to 1998 , of which he subsequently became an honorary member. He volunteered as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hans Ruland Foundation for Rehabilitation Research, Baden-Württemberg State Board of the Seniors' Union and Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts .

honors and awards

Miltner was a Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem . He was appointed Knight of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Maximilien Cardinal de Fürstenberg in 1979 and invested in the Papal Lay Order in Hamburg on November 10, 1979 by the Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy , Franz Cardinal Hengsbach . He was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land . He was also a member of the German Association of the Holy Land .

He was a member of the L'ordre national de la Légion d'honneur . In 1994 Miltner was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit . He was also the bearer of the Great Federal Cross of Merit with Star of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Staufer Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg and an Order of Merit of the United States Army .

A hall of the Karlsruhe Regional Council is named after him.
