The states of Qatar and East Timor have diplomatic relations .

The two states have no embassy in the other country. The Ambassador of Qatar in Jakarta , Indonesia, is responsible for East Timor . From 2013 to 2016 this was Mohammed Bin Khater Ibrahim Al-Khater . On February 19, 2017, Ahmed bin Jasim al-Hamar presented his accreditation to East Timor’s President Taur Matan Ruak . In 2013, Qatar had actually announced that it wanted to open an embassy in Dili .

In Qatar, East Timor's Honorary Consul in Beirut Joseph Issa represents the Southeast Asian country.

The economies of Qatar and East Timor are dependent on oil production in both countries. East Timor uses knowledge from Qatar here. Qatar is interested in investing in East Timor's air transport.

For 2018, the East Timorese statistical office does not indicate any trade relations between East Timor and Qatar.
