The Azerbaijani-East Timorese relations describe the interstate relationship between Azerbaijan and East Timor .

history

Azerbaijan and East Timor established diplomatic relations on April 5, 2004.

In 2019, East Timor's Foreign Minister Dionísio Babo visited Baku as part of the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement .

diplomacy

Azerbaijan does not have an embassy in East Timor, nor does East Timor have a diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani embassy in Jakarta , which opened in 2010, is also responsible for East Timor. Ambassador Tamerlan Garayev presented his accreditation to East Timor's President Taur Matan Ruak on February 14, 2013 .

Both countries have been members of the Non-Aligned Movement , East Timor since 2003 and Azerbaijan since 2011.

economy

Both states generate a large part of their income from their oil deposits. For 2018, the East Timor’s Statistical Office does not report any trade relations between East Timor and Azerbaijan.
