Kimberly B. Cheney

Kimberly B. Cheney (born November 25, 1935 in Manchester , Connecticut ) is an American lawyer and politician who was Vermont Attorney General from 1973 to 1975 .

Life

Kimberly B. Cheney was born in Manchester, Connecticut. He graduated from Yale College in 1957 . He then served in the US Navy and later returned to Yale Law School . There he graduated in 1964. He was also admitted to the Connecticut bar that same year. He then moved to Vermont, where he was admitted to the Vermont bar in 1967 and admitted to the US Supreme Court in 1971 .

In Vermont he worked from 1967 to 1968 as Assistant Attorney General. As a member of the Republican Party of Vermont , he was elected District Attorney for Washington County . He held this office from 1968 to 1972. from 1973 to 1975 he was Attorney General of Vermont. He has chaired the Vermont State Labor Relations Board and the American Arbitration Association, served on the Vermont Advisory Committee, and served on the US Commission of Civil Rights. He is a member of the Vermont Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
