Charles E. Gibson

Charles Edward Gibson junior (born December 20, 1925 in St. Johnsbury , Vermont ) is an American lawyer and politician ( Republican Party ). He was Attorney General of Vermont from 1963 to 1965 .

Career

Charles Edward Gibson Jr. grew up in South Ryegate ( Caledonia County ). He attended schools there and then the St. Johnsbury Academy. In 1949 he graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts . He then studied law at the University of Michigan Law School . He graduated there in 1952 with a Bachelor of Laws . After receiving his license to practice bar in 1953, he began to practice. From 1955 to 1960 he was a district attorney in Caledonia County and from 1960 to 1961 a district court judge. In the following years he moved to Montpelier (Vermont). Gibson served as Assistant Attorney General from 1961 to 1963 and as Attorney General of Vermont from 1963 to 1965. He then practiced in several law firms from 1965 to 1987. In this context he was a partner at Paterson, Gibson & Noble. From 1987 he practiced in his own legal practice.
