F. Elliott Barber

Frank Elliott Barber (born June 8, 1912 in Brattleboro , Vermont , † January 14, 1992 ibid) was an American lawyer and politician who was Vermont Attorney General from 1953 to 1955 .

Life

Frank Elliott Barber was born in Brattleboro, Vermont to Frank E. Barber and Elsie Haskell Barber. He attended Brattleboro Public School and graduated from Norwich University . He was admitted to the bar in 1937. He then had a law firm in Brattleboro.

Barber served in the US Army during World War II . In 1943, Barber was President of the Vermont Bar Association. As a member of the Republican Party of Vermont , he had a seat in the Vermont Senate from 1947 to 1948 . Archibald was a universalist as well as a Freemason .

He married Jeanne Freud in 1938 and, after divorcing in 1945, married Virginia Wells in 1947. F. Elliott Barber died on January 14, 1992. It is not known where his grave is.
