Kirchseelte is a municipality in the Harpstedt municipality in the Oldenburg district in Lower Saxony . The community had 1263 inhabitants at the end of 2010 and covers an area of 14.98 square kilometers.

Geographical location
The municipality of Kirchseelte is located around 23 kilometers southwest of Bremen . It is located on the edge of the Harpstedter Geest in the middle of the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park .
The Klosterbach runs through the village in a south-north direction. It forms the eastern boundary of the municipality and flows into the Ochtum after 16 kilometers .
Community structure
In addition to the village of Kirchseelte, the municipality also includes the district of Klosterseelte . One district is called Ördekenbrück. However, this name is no longer in use and is only used in some online route planners.
history
The village of Kirchseelte was first mentioned in 1211 as Selete .
Incorporations
On March 1, 1974, the neighboring community of Klosterseelte was incorporated.
Assignments
On July 1, 1972, an area with then around 200 inhabitants was assigned to the neighboring community of Heiligenrode .

The council of the Kirchseelte community consists of eleven council members and councilors. - Julius HW Kraft (* 1917 in Bremen ; † 2008 in Kirchseelte) has been very committed to the preservation of old farmhouses for decades . He was the founder (1973) and long-time chairman of the Bauernhaus interest group , which has set itself the goal of preserving and caring for old half-timbered houses that characterize the village and thus preserving and caring for the rural landscape throughout Germany.
