Kirschhofen is located on the left side of the Lahn (Lahnbogen) and is connected to the Odersbach on the right by a pedestrian bridge.

Kirschhofen is a district of Weilburg in the Limburg-Weilburg district in Central Hesse .
Geographical location
The village is located in the Weilburger Lahn valley area , on the edge of the eastern Hintertaunus , 1.8 km southwest of the Weilburg core city on an arc of the Lahn . On the opposite side of the river lies the Odersbach district . Both places are connected by a pedestrian bridge. State road 3323 leads past the village to the east .
history
In 1363 the village was mentioned for the first time with the place name Kyrchschyrben . In the 18th century there was a copper mine in the village .
Territorial reform
On December 31, 1970 , as part of the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent communities of Ahausen, Bermbach, Drommershausen, Gaudernbach, Hasselbach, Hirschhausen, Kirschhofen, Odersbach and Waldhausen and the city of Weilburg merged on a voluntary basis to form the expanded city of Weilburg. This made Kirschhofen a district of Weilburg.

The club life is mainly from the village club Kirschhofen, the Ev. Frauenhilfe, the Formula 1 Club Kirschhofen, the volunteer fire brigade Kirschhofen, the home and hiking club, the TuS Kirschhofen, the VdK -Ortsverein Kirschhofen, as well as the Bayern Kuckucks Kirschhofen and the fraternity Kirschhöfer Kuckucksbube in 1989.
Infrastructure
A pedestrian bridge over the Lahn has connected Kirschhofen with the Odersbach district since the 1970s.
Since 1925, the volunteer fire brigade Kirschhofen (from April 14, 1974 with youth fire brigade ) has provided fire protection and general help in this area. The municipal day-care center "Kuckucksnest" is operated. There are in Kirschhofen the community center in the Roßsteinstraße, an athletic field, a playground and signposted hiking and cycling trails, two shelters and 30 benches in the town and the district.
