Gaudernbach is the westernmost district of the city of Weilburg in the Limburg-Weilburg district in Central Hesse .
geography
The village is located on the southeast slope of the Westerwald and 3.9 km southwest of the Weilburg core town.
The district borders on Hasselbach in the north and Odersbach in the east . Wirbelau join in the south and Schupbach in the west .
Landesstrasse 3322 runs through Gaudernbach .
history
The town was first mentioned in a document in 1325. A chapel was built in the second half of the 14th century .
In the first half of the 19th century, the six communities Obertiefenbach , Heckholzhausen , Gaudernbach, Wirbelau, Eschenau and Schupbach formed a fire fighting district. When a fire broke out, certain residents with four harnessed horses had to fetch the fire engine stationed in Schupbach immediately.
The Gaudernbach volunteer fire brigade was founded on January 21, 1906 . In this way, she and other already existing volunteer fire brigades formed the Oberlahn extinguishing district in the fire service association for the Wiesbaden administrative region , within which she entered the district assembly in Obertiefenbach on September 3, 1906 with a strength of 32 members.
Territorial reform
On December 31, 1970 , as part of the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent communities of Ahausen, Bermbach, Drommershausen, Gaudernbach, Hasselbach, Hirschhausen, Kirschhofen, Odersbach and Waldhausen and the city of Weilburg merged on a voluntary basis to form the expanded city of Weilburg. This made Gaudernbach a district of Weilburg.
