Rückershausen is the smallest part of the municipality of Merenberg in the Limburg-Weilburg district in Central Hesse .
Geographical location
Rückershausen is four km northwest of Merenberg in Central Hesse . The county road 451 runs through the place. The Seeweiher Mengerskirchen , a 13 hectare reservoir with a campsite on the west bank, is northeast of the village .
history
Rückershausen is mentioned for the first time in a document from the years 1213 to 1215 and refers to the mill of the Seligenstatt monastery (municipality of Seck / Westerwald) in Rückershausen (Rukershusen), which is also documented later. Although this document is undated, it can be narrowed down to the years 1213 to 1215.
In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the previously independent municipalities of Rückershausen, Allendorf , Barig-Selbenhausen , Merenberg and Reichenborn merged voluntarily on December 31, 1970 to form the new large municipality of Merenberg .

Club life is shaped exclusively by the Rückershausen Volunteer Fire Brigade, founded in 1934 (with youth fire brigade since July 7, 1990).
Infrastructure
Since 1934 the Rückershausen volunteer fire brigade (since July 7, 1990 with the youth fire brigade ) has provided fire protection and general help in this area. There is a village community center with a youth room in the main street, a children's playground and hiking trails in the village .
