Klein Bademeusel , Małe Bóžemysle in Lower Sorbian , is a district of the town of Forst (Lausitz) in the Spree-Neisse district in the southeast of Brandenburg . The place belongs to the official settlement area of the Sorbs / Wends . Until it was incorporated into Groß Bademeusel in July 1977, Klein Bademeusel was an independent municipality.

Klein Bademeusel is located in Niederlausitz , right on the border with Poland and 30 kilometers as the crow flies south-east of Cottbus . Klein Bademeusel is the southernmost district of Forst, the core town is ten kilometers as the crow flies northwest of the town. The district borders in the north on Groß Bademeusel, in the east on the Polish municipality of Brody , in the southeast on Trzebiel with the village of Olszyna , in the south on Jerischke mit Bahren , in the southwest on Preschen mit Raden and in the west again on Groß Bademeusel. To the east of Klein Bademeusel, the Lusatian Neisse forms the border with Poland. In addition to the main town, the Försterei Bademeusel residential area belongs to the Klein Bademeusel district .
Klein Bademeusel is located at a junction from the state road 49. The federal motorway 15 (Lübbenau – Bademeusel) runs through the suburb of Klein Bademeusel, the junction Bademeusel and the border crossing point Forst – Olszyna, where the federal motorway 15 into the Polish autostrada A18 passes. After the Bademeusel junction, Landesstraße 49 turns into Kreisstraße 7101, which connects Klein Bademeusel with Döbern .

Klein Bademeusel was first mentioned in a document in 1495 as the Kleynen bathing diy . The place name is derived from the Sorbian personal name Badomysel . The settlement form of Klein Bademeusel was originally a row village . Klein Bademeusel was a combing village of the Forst rule and thus initially belonged to the countries of the Bohemian Crown . In 1635 the place came to the Electorate of Saxony through the Peace of Prague . In the church, Klein Bademeusel always belonged to Groß Bademeusel. Early 19th century had 1,000 guilders, the 17 farmers of the village estimate deliver.
In 1806 the Electorate of Saxony was elevated to a kingdom . As a result of the partition of Saxony decided at the Congress of Vienna , Klein Bademeusel came to the Kingdom of Prussia and belonged to the Frankfurt administrative district of the Brandenburg province . During the municipal reform in 1816, the place was assigned to the Sorau district . According to the topographical-statistical overview of the administrative district of Frankfurt adO , Klein Bademeusel had 25 residential buildings with 175 inhabitants around 1840 . In 1864 the place had 167 inhabitants. In the census of December 1, 1871, the rural community of Klein Bademeusel had 179 inhabitants in 36 families and four individual households. 86 inhabitants were male and 93 female; 36 residents were younger than ten years and all residents were of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination. In 1874, Klein Bademeusel joined the Preschen district with five other communities and three manor districts . On December 1, 1910, Klein Bademeusel had 168 residents.
Until the end of the Second World War in Klein Bademeusel a bridge over the Neisse and a road to Triebel . The bridge was blown up by the Wehrmacht in the run-up to the Battle of Berlin to prevent the Red Army from advancing . In April 1945 Klein Bademeusel was occupied by the Red Army. Since the end of the war and the establishment of the Oder-Neisse border , Klein Bademeusel has been located directly on the border with Poland. The Preschen district was dissolved in 1945. In the Soviet occupation zone , the district of Sorau west of the Neisse existed until April 1, 1946, after which Klein Bademeusel was reclassified to the district of Cottbus . Klein Bademeusel had been in the GDR since 1949. In the course of the reconstruction of the nearby motorway bridge, a provisional steel prefabricated bridge was built at the same place as the village bridge at the beginning of the 1950s, but this was only allowed to be used by the Soviet army. After the reconstruction of the motorway bridge was completed, the temporary bridge in Klein Bademeusel was dismantled. Since then, Klein Bademeusel has been a dead end village .
During the GDR district reform on July 25, 1952, Klein Bademeusel was finally assigned to the Forst district in the Cottbus district . On July 1, 1977, Klein Bademeusel was incorporated into Groß Bademeusel. After reunification , Klein Bademeusel was initially in the Forst district in the state of Brandenburg. On December 6, 1993, the district of Forst merged into the new Spree-Neisse district , on the same day the community of Groß Bademeusel was dissolved and incorporated into Forst. Since then, Klein Bademeusel has been an independent district of the town of Forst.
