Zuckerdorf Klein Wanzleben is a district of the town of Wanzleben-Börde in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

Zuckerdorf Klein Wanzleben is located in the Magdeburg Börde between the places Wanzleben , Seehausen and Oschersleben (Bode) , about 20 km southwest of Magdeburg .

history

The community of Klein Wanzleben was first mentioned in a document in 1145.

The development of the community has been linked to sugar beet cultivation and the breeding of new varieties since 1838 . It therefore also has a sugar beet in its coat of arms.

In 1871 the Johanniskirche was built with a cross-shaped floor plan. The local fire department was founded in 1871. The sports field was built in 1923.

On January 1, 2002 Remkersleben and the associated district of Meyendorf were incorporated into the Klein Wanzleben community.

On November 24, 2009, the Klein Wanzleben community applied for the community name to be changed to "Zuckerdorf Klein Wanzleben". This was approved by the district on January 28, 2010 and came into effect on February 11, 2010.

On September 1, 2010, the community was incorporated into the city of Wanzleben-Börde , and its area has since formed the village of Zuckerdorf Klein Wanzleben.

Klein Wanzleben sugar factory

Local farmers founded a sugar factory company in Klein Wanzleben in 1838. In 1856 the farmer Matthias Christian Rabbethge took over the majority of the shares in the sugar factory; this resulted in the Kleinwanzlebener Saatzucht AG (formerly Rabbethge & Gieseke); today's KWS SAAT AG ( Einbeck ).

A sugar factory belonging to Nordzucker AG has been located in Zuckerdorf Klein Wanzleben since 1994 .

Transport links

The federal road 246a ( Schönebeck (Elbe) - Seehausen ) touches Klein Wanzleben and leads through the district of Remkersleben. There are further road connections to Oschersleben (Bode) and Hadmersleben . The Wanzleben motorway junction ( A 14 ) is approx. 11 km from the village.

Klein Wanzleben is on the Blumenberg – Eilsleben railway line , which has not been used for passenger transport since 2002. The nearest train station with passenger traffic is in Hadmersleben on the Magdeburg – Halberstadt railway line .

St. Johannis
St. Joseph

The Protestant Church of St. Johannis was built in 1871 in the neo-Gothic style. Your parish is part of the parish area Seehausen in the parish of leeches of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The Catholic Church of St. Joseph, built in 1908, was earmarked for profanation . The windows of the church belonging to the diocese of Magdeburg and named after Josef von Nazaret were designed by Christof Grüger in 1965 .
