During the Second World War , a satellite camp of the Stutthof concentration camp was set up at the train station , and the prisoners were brought to the external labor camps of the Danzig shipyards in freight wagons. In 1942 some places in the district were renamed, Kokoschken was given the name "Klein Bessa".
