Kolbing is a village with 110 inhabitants (as of 2001 census) in the cadastral municipality of Puchberg im Machlande II in the market town of Baumgartenberg in the Lower Mühlviertel in the Perg district in Upper Austria .

geography

The village is located north of the Donau Straße on the northern edge of the Machland at an altitude of around 250  m above sea level. A. up to 300  m above sea level A. and borders in the north on the village of Hehenberg , in the east on Amesbach and in the south on Deiming (all municipality Baumgartenberg) and in the west, separated by the Deimingerbach, on the village Puchberg in the municipality Arbing .

From a geological and geomorphological point of view as well as aspects of the use of space, the place belongs to the Upper Austrian spatial units southern Mühlviertel peripheral locations and Machland .

The earliest written documents are 1209 "Kolbingen" and 1307 "Cholbing". It is based on the old man's name Cholbo.

The village originally belonged to the cadastral and local community Puchberg im Machland and came at the end of 1954 as part of the cadastral community Puchberg im Machlande II to the community Baumgartenberg.

The Außenstein Castle is not far from the village .
