Kon Tum is a province of Vietnam . It is located in the south of the country in the Central Highlands region . The province borders in the north on the province of Qu imng Nam , in the east on the province of Quảng Ngãi , in the south on the province Gia Lai and in the west on the states of Cambodia and Laos . Kon Tum lives mainly from agriculture. The Battle of Đắk Tô took place here during the Vietnam War .
