Kyle Edward Fogg (born January 27, 1990 in Brea , California ) is an American basketball player . After studying in his home country, Fogg won the 2013 NBA Development League (D-League) championship with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Fogg then played in Europe and became Most Valuable Player (MVP) and top scorer in the Finnish Korisliiga 2014 . After a season in Belgium , Fogg was active in the 2015/16 Basketball Bundesliga for the Eisbären Bremerhaven in the top German division, where he was invited to the BBL All-Star Game in mid-January 2016. At the end of the 2016 season he moved to the Spanish club Unicaja Málaga .

Career

After graduating from school in his hometown, Fogg began studying at the University of Arizona in Tucson , where he played from 2008 for the college team Wildcats in the then Pacific-10 Conference (Pac-10) of the NCAA . With the Wildcats, he reached the final tournament of the Conference , now trading as Pac-12 after being increased, in 2011 and 2012 , with Fogg also being elected to the “Pac-12 First Team” of the five best players of the year in the Conference in his senior year 2012. In Fogg's first season in 2009, they were only seeded at number 12 in the region in the national NCAA finals , but surprisingly reached the third round, where they clearly lost to the top seeded Cardinals of the University of Louisville in Sweet Sixteen . After a year break, they returned to the NCAA finals in 2011 and with Derrick Williams the Wildcats even moved into the "Elite Eight" regional final , where the eventual title winner UConn Huskies for MOP Kemba Walker was just two points apart and the German freshman Niels Giffey was defeated. In Fogg's senior year 2012, the Wildcats missed the NCAA finals without Williams, who had switched to the NBA, and instead were surprisingly eliminated in the National Invitation Tournament in the first round.

After Fogg had not been selected by any club in the 2012 NBA Draft , he tried to get recommended for a contract in the top-endowed professional league NBA via training camps and the NBA Summer League wearing the Houston Rockets . The Rockets released him from his contractual obligations in mid-October in preparation for the season, but gave him a place in their “ farm teamRio Grande Valley Vipers in Hidalgo on the border with Mexico . With this team, in which the German national player Tim Ohlbrecht was one of his teammates, Fogg won the championship of the " Minor League " NBA Development League (D-League) in 2013. In contrast to Ohlbrecht, Fogg got no opportunity to join the To prove Rockets in the NBA, so that he then left his home country to get better-paid contracts in Europe compared to the D-League. In the 2013/14 season, Fogg played in the Finnish Korisliiga for Korikobrat from Lapua , who clearly missed the play-offs for the championship at the end of the season in tenth and third from bottom place in the table . Fogg himself achieved by far the best average, individual point yield with 27 points per game and was named the best foreign "import" player at the end of the season. In the following season he moved to the Belgian Scooore League to the Giants from Antwerp , with whom he also played in the international club competition EuroChallenge 2014/15 , in which one failed in the second group phase because of the poorer direct comparison with the Russian representative BK Yenisei Krasnoyarsk . In the national championship, the Giants reached sixth place as in the previous season and were eliminated in the first play-off round. In the summer of 2015, Fogg won the highly endowed invitation tournament The Basketball Tournament in the Overseas Elite team with DJ Kennedy , the best offensive player in the 2014/15 basketball Bundesliga , and with Euroleague player Olaseni Lawal .

Like his previous Antwerp team-mate DeAndre Kane , who moved to ratiopharm Ulm , Fogg then went to the top German basketball division and signed a contract with the Eisbären from Bremerhaven . The team, which had only just kept the class in the previous season, got back into the table cellar and changed coaches as in the previous year. However, Fogg was able to prove his individual scoring qualities again and achieved the best individual points result of all players of the current season with 35 points in a game in the away win against BG Göttingen shortly before Christmas 2015. Almost three weeks later, Fogg was allowed to finish take part in the first half of the 2015/16 Basketball Bundesliga at the BBL All-Star Game .

With the 2016/2017 season, Fogg moved to the Spanish club Unicaja Málaga .
