Kym Barrett (born August 11, 1965 in Brisbane , Australia ) is an Australian costume designer who has been nominated for the Saturn Award several times.

Life

Kym Barrett completed her training as a costume designer at the University of New England and at the renowned National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Then she started her career in theater in Australia . After eight years she switched to the film industry and moved to the USA . First she worked in the field of advertising. In 1992 she was an assistant in the costume department of the film Strictly Ballroom . She finally made her film debut as the person in charge in the film William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet in 1996 . Barrett then worked for Zero Effect , Three Kings , Titan AE , Red Planet and In 2001 for From Hell . In 2003 Barrett designed the costumes in the horror thriller Gothika and in 2005 in the comedy The Monster-in-Law. In 2006 she worked on the film Eragon - The Legacy of the Dragon Riders and two years later on The Children of the Silk Road . In 2011 she appeared in The Green Hornet and in 2012 in The Amazing Spider-Man .
