from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of MPs to the Styrian Landtag (III. Legislative period) lists all MPs to the Styrian Landtag in the III. Legislative period from March 18, 1953 to March 18, 1957. After the state elections in 1953 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) had 21 members, although it had lost one seat compared to the state elections in 1949. Furthermore, the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) was represented with 20 seats in the state parliament, which meant an increase of two seats. The electoral party of the Independents (WdU) won six seats in the 1953 election and thus had one less representative than in 1949. As in the previous period, the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ) was represented by one member.

After the deputies were sworn in on March 18, 1953, the members of the state parliament elected the members of the state government Josef Krainer senior III on May 15, 1953 . The legislative period ended with the inauguration of the members of the fourth legislative period on March 18, 1957.
