List of bridges over the lower Mississippi
The list of bridges over the lower Mississippi includes the bridges over the Lower Mississippi River south of the confluence of the Ohio River near Cairo, Illinois ( 36 ° 59 ′ 4 ″ N , 89 ° 8 ′ 0 ″ W ) to the Gulf of Mexico . The locations begin with the locations on the left (eastern) bank. Span is the span of the main opening. Construction year refers to the year the bridge was completed. The majority of the bridges are steel cantilever bridges or Gerber girder bridges , only the Hernando de Soto Bridge is an arch bridge; the few cable-stayed bridges are indicated in the comments.
