The fountain system consists of a central water basin, five reservoirs, at the ends of which are eight fruit baskets and two putti on crocodiles and two trenches about ninety meters long. Three fountains are installed in the central water basin, one in each of the reservoirs. The fountain is supplied with water via the pump, filter and control system in the staircase to Schierker Straße. From there the water is pumped into the fountains and the drains of the two trenches. The water that accumulates in the basin collects via the connecting inlets and finally reaches the reservoir, which is located under the southern part of the basin, through four overflows. It acts as a water reservoir, from which the excess is pumped into the sewer system when the water level is too high. From here the circle closes with the pump house.
