List of fountains in the Reinickendorf district of Berlin

The list of wells in Reinickendorf is a detailed overview of jewelry fountains in the public space of Berlin Reinickendorf district . Wells that are out of service or no longer available were also recorded. Architecturally designed drainage systems and private fountains were not included.

The metal road and emergency water wells also set up in all districts have their own lemma.

In 2018, Berlin had over 270 decorative fountains in public spaces, including sea fountains and splashing around. According to a contract, all systems are to be taken over by Berliner Wasserbetriebe and maintained by 2026 .

This compilation does not claim to be complete.

The district has 15 functioning ornamental fountains in all of its districts. and splashing around as well as seven drinking fountains . The maintenance of the district fountain systems costs an average of 90,000 euros per year, which Ströer Media had taken over until 2017 .

Glad	Barbarossa fountain	Paul-Poser-Platz location	1927	Poser & Strong	The fountain was donated by the Frohnauer Bauverein in connection with the development of the garden city. - It consists of an angular pool, built up from boulders. A tall, rectangular stone pillar is built on the slope side, on which sits a kneeling boy carved out of stone, holding a model of a house in his hands. The water supply line is installed in the pedestal, from which water can run into the basin from a tap .

Glad	Ball runner	Zeltinger Platz location	1931	Otto Maerker	The original of the bronze figure was probably melted down as a metal donation by the German people for war purposes during the Second World War . In 1980 the Berlin Senate installed a copy made by the sculptor Harald Haake on the historic square. Thirty fountains arranged in a circle on the edge of the pool are directed towards the center of the facility, where a naked runner is on a ball.

Glad	Bear fountain	Edelhofdamm location	in front of the Buddhist temple	around 1930	In a round pool of water at street level, a stone-carved bear sat on a ball, also made of stone. The water basin was surrounded in a semicircle by a pergola and round flower beds. The facility was located in front of the Buddha temple in the garden city of Frohnau . The well is apparently no longer there.
MäVi	faun	Town square		Gerhard Thieme	The sculpture of the Faun and the fountain sculpture are made of very light fiberglass fabric with a greenish finish . Everything together reveals quite a dynamic. The parts of the well system are designed to be modular so that they can be easily exchanged. Thieme produced the figure in the workshops of the Pützer Kunststofftechnik Bonn company within two months.
MäVi	Fontane arch	Koenigshorster Strasse location		Emanuel Scharfenberg	The ornamental fountain stands in front of the Fontanehaus on a spacious terrace. It is a monumental bronze cast that lets a gush of water and jets of water fall from a great height into a basin that is sloping at ground level.
MäVi	Bowl fountain	Brunnenplatz location	around 1984		On the named place there is a two-story ornamental fountain, which is modeled on the Schinkel fountain, which is now in the Tegel district. The facility is a result of the collaboration between Mark Braun Architects , Berlin, and a sculptor. Since the fountain is on private land, it is not officially one of the district water decorations. - According to the planning of a real estate company, the fountain square is to be roofed over and / or a new place is to be created.

Reini	Four water temples	Kurt-Schumacher-Damm location			A low, square fountain basin is arranged on each flat platform. At each of the four corners of the intersection of Scharnweberstrasse and Kurt-Schumacher-Damm there are small temples symbolized from ashlar . Each facility is open at the top and flanked on the side by a small green area. Dandelion- shaped gargoyles stand in the shallow basins .

The basins are arranged one above the other in the form of terraces and each has a nude sculpture . The shallow fountain, the result of a design competition, adorns the space created by the traffic-related renovation and takes up its triangular base. The fountain complex is illuminated at night.

Tege	Schinkel fountain bowl fountain	Alt-Tegel formerly: Schlossplatz location	1976	Karl Friedrich Schinkel	A two-tier well stock with stepped water bowls, which are probably made of marble, is located in a round stone basin about five meters in diameter. The first installation site was the student park (today: place in front of the Berlin University of the Arts ) in the Charlottenburger Hardenbergstrasse. There it was dismantled in 1954 and temporarily stored. In 1976 it was given its current place in the pedestrian zone of the Tegel district on a pentagonal podium designed with paving stones.

Woad	Jubilee fountain	on the property of the Evangelical Queen Luise Church , Bondickstrasse location	1925		The sandstone fountain bears the inscription Waidmannslust on its pedestal . Jubilee fountain. 1875-1925 . This refers to the founding of the district in 1875. In a polygonal basin, also made of sandstone, is the sculpture of a hunter's boy with a hunter's hat, a crossbow in his right hand and a dachshund on his left. On the back of the well basin there is another inscription: "In the forest and on the heath, there I seek my joy".

Witt	Fountain, well : Baltic fountain	Eichborndamm 239 location	before 1935 1957	new: Gerhard Schultze-Seehof	A historical postcard from Wittenau (Reinickendorf) shows a fountain in a slightly oval stone basin that is about knee-high in front of the town hall square. Fanned-out water jets ran out of five, asymmetrically arranged, voluminous nozzles in the basin, each in slightly different directions and at different heights, but curved towards the opposite edge of the basin. For a long time this well was only planted. It was redesigned in the 2010s. It is unclear whether the water is still running.

The wells, which had been installed on public streets and squares in Berlin by the city's water supplier, Berliner Wasserbetriebe , since the 1980s were initially only used to maintain the drinking water supply network . They were designed by artists and have been in public places throughout the city since the beginning of the 21st century, preferably in highly frequented places. As of August 2019, there are 96 such free and unattended water dispensers. In July 2018 it was decided that by the end of 2019 a total of 100 drinking water fountains should be running all over Berlin.

In Reinickendorf (as of August 5, 2019) there were seven drinking fountains (see list ).
